Breaking News: Brad Pitt's Insta-Fam

Brad Pitt is legally adopting Angelina Jolie's two kids, and both Maddox and Zahara will have the last name Jolie-Pitt. Wow! I did not see that one coming, especially since they haven't announced any plans to get married. Maybe they won't get married; Angelina hasn't exactly had the best of luck in that department, so I can see how she might just wanna be Pitt's "life partner," have kids together, play house, etc. On the other hand, they probably will get married, at least to protect the interest of the kids.

I can't imagine what Jennifer Aniston was feeling when this news was released by Brad's publicist yesterday. I know she is on to another relationship, but it seems as though there is no longer any denying the fact that Brad was with Angelina before he and Jen were even separated, and him adopting Ang's kids is a huge slap in Jen's face.

Maybe Brad's first act as father will be to discourage Maddox from keeping that awful mohawk. The again, Brad hasn't been making the best hair choices for himself lately, so that is unlikely.

    I am willing to imagine the possibility that they were attracted to one another, and with her motherly instincts it made Brad put pressure on Jen to start a family of their own. Hadn't it been rumored that he wanted a family, but Jen wasn't ready?

    They may not have been knocking boots, but Angelina may have just highlighted what was wrong in the Pitt-Aniston combination.

    From what I've read many times, and what she said on Oprah, Jennifer definitely did and does want a family. Who knows what really went wrong between them; regardless, I feel badly for Jen right now -- this can't be easy.

    I am beginning to think that Angelia is possibly full of shit. In all the press I have ever read on her, she has constantly asserted her independence, never needing a man for anything but sex, "taking lovers" instead of getting married. And now she is sharing her children with someone she's been sleeping with for about a year. Women's Lib takes a step backwards.

    I know Jen has said that she wants a family. I think Brad's issue is timing. But who knows?

    You are right, she must feel offended.

    And Dop: of course Angelina is warped, we all knew that. :) But hey, she is twice-divorced, now... I think her "maintenance man" arrangement is only post-Billy Bob.
